Author Biography
M.G. Darwish is a Bahraini‑born author based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. He writes dark epic fantasy and gritty thrillers where worlds rise, crack, and demand hard choices. His stories test power, price, and the vows people break, and he rarely repeats the same voice; he believes that every tale should be told in the style it demands. Over more than a decade he has published 15+ novels and short works, reached 200,000+ readers, and won several regional awards. He proudly notes that discipline beats motivation: a regular writing routine has allowed him to write through exhaustion, produce consistently, and treat his craft like a business.
Darwish collects sparks for his stories from glitchy video games, stray headlines, or an overheard lie, then follows the chain of cause‑and‑effect to its brutal conclusion. He began writing at eight years old, imagining alternative endings to books and films and asking: what if the hero wasn’t in the right place at the right time? These questions fuel the what‑ifs that underpin his work, from vampire feuds to pirate legends.
His writing ritual is part discipline and part theatre: a mini‑writing cave with candles, a giant TV, a mechanical keyboard, and anime battle music booming through a gaming chair. Over time he learned to write anywhere, trusting that persistence and perseverance are better friends than motivation. He treats the author career like a startup — building an author brand, maintaining a newsletter, and researching ways to reach readers. He chose self‑publishing and cautions aspiring authors to avoid vanity presses: authors should be paid for their work, not pay to be published.

“I can do what I want. If someone tells me otherwise, they’re getting a character named after them and promptly decapitated.”
